Industries where these treatments are often used:

This treatment introduces aluminium into metals via diffusion in order to create aluminium oxide.

This type of diffusion allows aluminium to diffuse into the metal surface, resulting in the surface formation of aluminium oxide. The major benefit of this treatment is that the material becomes extremely heat-resistant and can withstand temperatures of up to 1500°C. Due to its self-healing properties, the surface layer can repair itself in high-temperature oxygen-rich environments. The layer can also prevent carbon from diffusing into the surface of piping systems for example.

This treatment is frequently used in the treatment of heat exchangers and ferrules in the chemical and petrochemical industries as well as in electrical power stations.


Characteristics of the aluminizing treatment:

  • Diffusion thickness: 10 up to as much as 1000 µm
  • Temperature resistance: up to 1500°C
  • Prevents unwanted diffusion of other compounds such as carbon
  • Applicable to all ferrous metals
  • Standard maximum dimensions: 3200x2000x900mm, other dimensions on special order
