At present, players in the textile sector can survive only if they greatly reduce their production costs, resulting in extremely high running speeds for threads and fibres in the machine. This in turn leads to extreme wear and tear on the steel machine parts which then weaken or even break the threads and fibres.

The use of very hard surfaces with low coefficients of friction can provide a solution to such issues. Treatment processes such as hard inchromizing, borizing and vanadizing have the required characteristics and also offer increased corrosion resistance in moist production environments. Parts that have already experienced excessive wear and tear can also be effectively repaired via the Plasdia® or Plasmet® treatment processes.
